🍩 Free Doughnuts at Good Company
Good Company Doughnuts & Cafe will offer a free classic or specialty doughnut with any lunch sandwich purchase during Arlington Restaurant Week, Oct. 13–20. Known for its fresh, scratch-made treats, the café has locations in Ballston and National Landing.
🎃 Paws, Treats & Howl-o-Ween Fun
From spooky pup parades to canine costume contests, Arlington is going all-in on Dogtober. Celebrate your furry friend with treats, prizes, and photo ops at MoCA Arlington, Gateway Park, Shipgarten, Dogma Bakery, and Club Canine Cardio this month.
🍔 ARL Spots Make Post’s Top 40
Ruthie’s All-Day and Our Mom Eugenia were both featured in The Washington Post’s “40 Best Restaurants in and Around D.C.” list. Critic Tom Sietsema praised Ruthie’s hearty Southern flavors and Our Mom Eugenia’s comforting Greek fare, calling both standouts among the region’s top dining experiences.
🏘️ Goodwill Site to Add Affordable Homes
The S. Glebe Road Goodwill will close Oct. 27 to make way for a first-of-its-kind project combining a new store, 120 affordable apartments, childcare, and workforce development space. The project, led by Goodwill and AHC, will open in 2027–2028.
🏛️ County Board Sets October Agenda
The Arlington County Board meets Oct. 18 and 21 to discuss updates to towing fees and the County’s 2026 Legislative Package, which includes priorities such as affordable housing, tree canopy preservation, and public safety funding. Both meetings are open to the public and live-streamed online.
